The Robinson Nature Center in Columbia, MD is an award-winning environmental attraction with an emphasis on sustainability and energy conservation. As one of four LEED(tm) Platinum certified buildings in the state, the center incorporates advanced sustainable technologies into its design. Those features include a geothermal heating system, previous pavement parking lots, solar panels and a green roof. There is a Discovery Room, which features a hands-on exhibit featuring sights and sounds. Children will enjoy a Bat Cave and a nighttime forest walk. When you're done with the park, you can head back to your car or visit the nearby Howard County General Hospital for emergency care.

The Robinson Nature Center is a three-story nature education facility in Howard County, Maryland. Its interior includes a two-story main exhibit space, an impressive Discovery Room, 150-seat auditorium, classrooms, meeting rooms, and a full-dome movie theater. For those who are more adventurous, the center also includes a two-story outdoor Discovery Zone, an outdoor "Nature Place" discovery zone and ruins of Simpsonville Mill. Outside, there are interpretative trails that are open to the public and designed to promote a greater appreciation of nature.

The Supervisor of the Robinson Nature Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and a team of Natural Resources Specialists. The supervisor also coordinates with the Robinson Foundation Board of Trustees to ensure the center is operating efficiently and meets the needs of its visitors. The supervisor also works closely with the Robinson Foundation Board of Trustees and the Robinson Nature Center's Board of Trustees to ensure the center offers high-quality educational programming. When the supervisor is at the center, she oversees all aspects of the facility, from educational programs to public relations.
